Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Brake pads must be correctly bedded in to perform optimally.

To bed in your new brake pads, you must initially drive with gentle braking for the first 150 miles. By this, slow gentle pressure applied to the brakes wherever possible as appose to a sharp, hard, stab on the brake pedal. From 150-200 miles, you should gradually increase the amount of pressure applied (sooner, sharper and a little harder on the brake pedal). Once bedding-in mileage is complete, you must then perform a number of consecutive stops to finalise the bedding-in process. In order to carry out the ‘stops’ you ideally need to be travelling around 60mph, use moderate to heavy pressure to bring the car down to a slow speed (approx. 20mph). Carry out 5-10 stops in succession, but be mindful not to come to a complete stop holding the brakes on(as this may cause your brake discs to hot spot). After the consecutive ‘stops’
the bedding in procedure is complete.

These pads are primarily designed for fast road use. While they can tolerate occasional spirited driving, they are not intended for prolonged heavy track use or repeated extreme braking conditions. We recommend our track focused pads.

No, the pad compound has been selected to provide strong braking performance while producing noticeably less dust than many aggressive performance compounds.

Absolutely. Correct bedding-in is critical to ensure optimal braking performance, proper material transfer, and reduced risk of vibration or uneven braking behaviour.

Installation should only be carried out by a suitably qualified individual. Incorrect installation or bedding-in may negatively affect braking performance and safety.

Yes all pads and discs are designed as direct replacements for the original braking system unless otherwise stated.

This is typically normal. Our brake pads feature a thin coating which aids the bedding-in procedure after initial installation, any smell should disappear within the first 30-60 miles of driving. Should the smell persist beyond the brake bedding in procedure and after 60 miles, this isn’t normal unless being driven exceptionally hard (heavy consistent braking), or the potential of seized / sticking brake calipers. If in doubt, then please do not hesitate to contact us.

For optimal braking performance, we strongly recommend pairing upgraded pads and discs with a high-quality performance brake fluid such as Motul RBF660 or Motul DOT4 LV, depending on vehicle application and intended use.
